We manufacture many different types of spikes for a wide array of applications. The difference between fasteners and spikes is that fasteners usually have a mating part that holds it together, whereas a spike is an individual fastener that will hold the product together. Moreover, spikes are typically used with wooden applications such as a dock or railroad tracks.
Spikes have a similar manufacturing process as bolts. First, they are cut to length, next we heat the ends of the blank through an induction process, then forge the head. After the head has been formed the spike is pointed (chamfered) and trimmed to clean excess material from the forging process.
