Master Bolt Continuous Improvements: Quality Assurance Lab
At Master Bolt, we are all about continuous improvements so that we can always provide our customers with the absolute best hardware and fasteners. One of our most recent improvements was in our Quality Lab, where our operators inspect our products.
What's New in the Quality Lab?
Our Quality Lab was a little outdated, so we went to work to revamp it to better our internal processes. We added new LED lighting, replaced the ceiling tiles, and painted to give it a fresh feel. We also added cubicles to help separate the space and give our operators their own space to work.
We optimized our documentation filing cabinets and added more storage for the parts that already went through inspection and still needed to be inspected.
We bought a granite surface plate to hold gauging, indicators, and more to help with inspections.
We also added a new and improved optical comparator, which allows us to better inspect our parts for roundness, angles, distances, and other specs.
We upgraded our calibration database system. This helps us find a specific gauge and make sure that it is calibrated, and ensure everything is processed correctly.
