As you know, Master Bolt is all about continuous improvement. One of our more recent improvements was with the introduction of SolidWorks.
What is SolidWorks?
SolidWorks is a 3D solid modeling computer and design program. At Master Bolt, we use it to help build a more accurate part quicker.
How Does it Work?
We draw a 3D model to whatever component our customer would like us to manufacture. From there, we have the model, and then we'll put it into a design blueprint stage. We will draw the blueprint for each operation throughout the manufacturing process.
Typically, there are three to four different manufacturing processes that part has to go through. This allows each operation to have its own blueprint, so they know what the dimensions are and where they have to be as far as the tolerance for their operation.
Why We Use SolidWorks
The SolidWorks program has really helped us improve our processes. It takes all the guesswork out of it when each operation has its own print. Not only does this program make our jobs easier, but it helps us produce a better quality product for our customers!
